Flintshire Scouts have had some great media coverage this week to support our online petition against the removal of the 20% funding relief for business rates by Flintshire Council. We’ve also had great support online from the likes of TV’s Bear Grylls and Anthony Middleton. Check out some of the coverage below.

BBC news picked up on the story http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-north-east-wales-42558732 as did Deeside.com with this article: http://www.deeside.com/4000-people-sign-petition-council-decision-remove-rate-relief-flintshire-scout-groups/

As the story gathered momentum it was picked up by many other news providers such as the ‘i’ and others: https://inews.co.uk/news/bear-grylls-pledges-support-campaign-stop-welsh-scouts-paying-business-rates/

The petition was presented to Flintshire County Council and was the largest that they have ever received which resulted in a change of the decision to chrage Scout Groups business rates. This lifted all Scout Groups in Flinsthsire out of financial hardship and also lifted other charities of a similar nature at the same time. The petition is below:
