Volunteering’s not just about giving back – it goes both ways. It improves your wellbeing, gives you skills for the future, and helps you make new friends (and memories).

All our activities are run by volunteers, who might join us because they want to:

  • Try something new
  • Make friends
  • Spend time with their children – or gain experience with young people
  • Do something good for their community and themselves
  • Keep their bodies and brains active and happy – whether that’s by scaling mountains, sharing skills or serving tea

All end up making a huge difference to young people’s lives – gifting them with skills for life, and learning a whole lot about themselves along the way.

Whatever your background, identity or ability, there’s a volunteer spot with your name on it.

The big picture

By being a member of Mynydd Isa Scouts you are part of a wider family of Flintshire Scouts, Scouts Cymru and The Scouts UK, allowing young people to connect with others from different backgrounds. Volunteering can be a brilliant way to boost your mental wellbeing. It’s a great feeling knowing you’re helping young people get skills for life, and you might even learn a lot about yourself along the way.

Scouts can make you feel good in other ways too. We’ll guide you to an opportunity where you’ll:

  • Make friends and meet people
  • Try new things and challenge yourself
  • Get outdoors and get stuck in
  • Positively impact your community
  • Create vital opportunities for young people
  • Make memories that’ll last a lifetime

If you can only occasionally help, that’s OK. Whether you’d like to be an activity planner, tea-maker or craft creator, we appreciate any time you can spare.

Making an Impact

We encourage our members to speak up, get stuck in and shout out to make a positive difference and have a voice across Wales, and the world. Our programme allows young people to find their passion, be a driving force and create change.

Leaders of tomorrow

It’s not all about the outdoors and adventure in Scouting, our young people also develop skills that are essential for the future. We want them to think outside the box, consider others and solve problems that set them up for the future.
